Mr. Bruce G. Lane

Bruce G. Lane, 76, of Malone, New York, passed away Friday, September 8, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Malone, NY on June 11, 1947, he was the son of Darrell and Elsie (Mulverhill) Lane. Bruce was incredibly proud to be a "Lane". His parents predeceased him. Bruce graduated from Franklin Academy in 1966 then served his country honorably in the Vietnam War. On February 14, 1970, Bruce was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary B. Romaine. Mary predeceased him on June 24, 1997. Bruce is survived by his children, Toby (Carrie) Lane of Malone, Casey (Tenille) Lane of North Bangor, Todd (Patricia) Lane of Plattsburgh, Courtney (Josh) Leonard of Chateaugay and Ashley Lane of Champlain and 8 grandchildren. There was nothing Bruce wouldn't do for his children and their families. Bruce was a man devoted to his family, especially his 8 grandchildren. Bruce traveled the country with his grandsons, Alexander and Isaac and traveled near and far to attend any and all sporting events for his grandchildren, Taylor, Mackenzie, Cali, Brandon, Mary and Benjamin. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Bruce is survived by his sister, Sandra (Leon) Lamica and his nephews, Bruce Lamica and Shane Lamica. Bruce shared a special relationship with his sister and her family sharing many laughs and memories. Bruce and Leon treated each other as brothers. Bruce was an avid Syracuse Orange fan, traveling with his many close friends over the years to the Carrier Dome to support his team. Bruce was also known to travel the North Country to support local athletes. When Bruce was at the field or in the gym, his presence was certainly known. Bruce loved to share stories of the countless sporting events he attended over the years. In addition to his parents and wife, Bruce was predeceased by a son, Marty who died in infancy and his dear friend, Fred Bashaw. Calling hours will be held at St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Thursday, September 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Living Hope Church, 57 Rennie Street, Malone with Rev. Justus Martin officiating. Burial will take place at St. John Bosco Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Malone American Legion, Amvets or Hospice of the North Country.
