Mr. Carl F. Perry

Carl F. Perry passed away on February 9, 2024, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 24, 1948, in Malone, NY, to the late John and Hattie Mae (Hill) Perry. He was 75 years old. Carl was a loving, selfless, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, loved golfing, and was a member of the Malone Golf Club for over 50 years. He was also an avid New York Mets fan and loved nurturing his garden’s plants and flowers. In his spare time, you could find him in his rocking chair on the back patio, doing his crossword puzzles, smoking his pipe, and sipping a beer. Chances are, he would tip his straw hat and wave hello. Carl graduated from Franklin Academy High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1967 and was honorably discharged as a 5th Sergeant in 1970. He was married to Rosemary Champagne on October 12, 1974, at Notre Dame Church by Rev. Gerald Service. He was employed at the Federal Correctional Institute in Ray Brook, where he retired after 20 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed working for the Franklin County Courts as a court attendant. He was a communicant of Notre Dame Church and a member of the Malone American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, of 49 years; a son, Brett Perry of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Bridgette (Peter) Pirro of Fairport, NY; four grandsons, Henry Perry, Cooper, Paxton, and Camden Pirro; two sisters, Shirley Boyea of Malone and Betty Fassett of Malone; and his mother-in-law, Jeannette Champagne of Malone. He was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Clifford Perry, Maurice Perry, and Dorothy Perry in infancy, Phyllis Nichols, Harrison "Bub" Perry, James Perry, Floyd Perry, Allen Perry, and Ronald Perry; his father-in-law, Robert Champagne; and brother-in-law, Gregory Champagne. Visitation hours for Carl will be held on Sunday, February 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 19 at 12:00 p.m. at Notre Dame Church. Burial will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery on Friday, July 25 at 9 a.m. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
