Mr. Clarence "JR" Gillette

Clarence J. Gillette “Jr”, of Burke, NY passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at his home. Born on September 25, 1935 in Chateaugay, NY, he was the son of Clarence and Exina (Miner) Gillette. He was married to Anne Damour on December 30, 1989 in Burke, NY. Jr owned and operated Gillette General Construction in Burke working in all kinds of construction including masonry and carpentry. He was a member of the Frontier Lodge 517 Free & Accepted Masons as well as the Shiners and the North Country Squares in Plattsburgh. He was a member of the Chateaugay Presbyterian Church. Jr is survived by his wife of 32 years, Anne; a step daughter, Kelley (Bruce) Beauharnois; two granddaughters, Remi and Elise Beauharnois; two sisters and three brothers and their spouses, Olive (Frank) Kavanaugh, Donald (Nancy) Gillette, Kimball (Alice) Gillette, Barbara (Leon) Miller and Jeff (Lucille) Gillette. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Ida Wilson. Visitation will take place at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Friday, January 7, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel followed by a Masonic Service. In accordance with current health restrictions, those in attendance are asked to wear a mask. Spring burial will be held in Eastside Cemetery, Chateaugay. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jr’s memory may be made to the Burke Fire Department and Rescue.
