David A. Vincent, age 60, of Burke, NY died peacefully at the University of Vermont Medical Center, Burlington, VT on Friday morning, March 2, 2018. He was born in Malone, NY on June 29, 1957 to Silas Morton Vincent, Sr. and Ruth (Armstrong) Vincent. David graduated from Franklin Academy with the Class of 1976. He worked his entire life on the Vincent Family Farm and was supervisor for the Town of Burke. David was a member of the Franklin County Farm Service Agency Committee, Franklin County Soil and Water Board, Agri-Mark voting representative, Franklin County Cornell Cooperative Extension, Franklin County Farm Bureau, Chateaugay Milk Producers Board, National Association of Farmer Election Committees, Potato Growers Association and served as the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Agricultural Program Committee. He was a past member of the Burke Volunteer Fire Department. David enjoyed tractor pulls, NASCAR, watching the races at the Mohawk International Raceway, his John Deere collection and visiting his many friends for coffee and conversation. In his younger days, he enjoyed racing snow sleds and bowling with his friends. David was a great cook and enjoyed watching cooking shows. His favorite thing however was spending time with and spoiling his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Allen) Vincent; his four daughters, Pamela (Vincent) Leduc and her husband, Jacque of Bombay, Patricia Vincent and her husband, Gary LaMere of Burke, Valerie Dalton and her partner, Joshua Perkins of Chateaugay, Stefanie Wilson of Malone; grandchildren, Naomi and Garrick Leduc, Gracie and Grady Vincent-LaMere, Luke and Anna Dalton, Destiny, Adam and Zoey Perkins, Christa, Curtis and Emily LaMere; a brother, Silas Morton Vincent Jr and his wife, Sandra of Burke; a sister, Mary (Vincent) Lobdell and her husband, Jim of Chateaugay; a sister-in-law, Jade (Janie) Vincent of Cottonwood, AZ; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Lee Vincent and a nephew, Marc Vincent. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 7 from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 noon on Thursday, March 8 at Notre Dame Church, Malone. A celebration of David’s life will immediately follow the Mass at the Burke Fire Station. All are welcome to attend. Burial will take place in the spring at Burke Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to the Burke Volunteer Fire Department, Burke Adult Center, Holy Family Annual Fund or the David A. Vincent Memorial Fund supporting youth activities in Burke and Chateaugay at Community Bank.
