Elizabeth A. Dibble Tuthill, 93, of County Rt. 20, Constable died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019 at the Alice Hyde Medical Center, Malone. Born on Nov. 13, 1926 in Brome, Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of Joseph P. Rolleri and Lillian Hopkins. Her first marriage was to James E. Dibble. Her second marriage was to Charles H. Tuthill. He predeceased her on Dec. 22, 1980. Elizabeth worked at Cleyne and Tinker in Huntington, Quebec, Canada from the age of 14 until she was 20 years old. She was a stay at home mom for many years. Elizabeth and her husband, Charles lived in McMinnville, Oregon with her three youngest children for a time. Later she went to work at Ballard Mill dress factory and in 1982, she went to work at the Farrar Nursing Home until she retired in 1991. For many years, she was a member of the Constable Firemen Auxiliary. She held the office of secretary and so enjoyed helping with the field day events. She also enjoyed sewing for her children and friends. Her greatest joy besides her family was quilting. She made over 160 patchwork quilts for friends, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was probably best known for her laugh and her Italian sense of humor. She is survived by seven children, Alice Dibble, Ann (William) Gokey, Thomas Dibble, Marina (Donald) LaValley, Chris Dibble, Michaelle (Larry) Martin, Jacqueline Soulia; two step-children, Eileen Tuthill Gill, Stanley (Loreitta) Tuthill; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-laws, Betty Duheme Rolleri (Albert), William (Shirley) Dibble, Earl (Pam) Dibble, Robert (Linda) Dibble, Betty Jane Dibble, Grace Phetterplace, Walter Dibble; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; a son, James Dibble on Nov. 19, 2006;, brothers-in-law, Art Dibble and Lyle Phetterplace. Calling hours will be held at St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 12 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Constable.
