January 26, 1931 - December 27, 2020
Jennie DiMarco, 89 years old, went home to be with "Our Lord" on December 27th, 2020. She passed away peacefully at her residence on Constable St. in Malone surrounded by people who cared for her and loved her. Jennie was born on January 26th, 1931 to Angelina DiMarco, (who predeceased her), at Rome State School, in Rome NY where she resided for many years. Jennie then went on to live in several family care homes until she finally found her forever family with Grace Whyte and her family. Jennie lived with Grace and her husband Charles(White Hair) for nearly 18 years. Jennie was referred to, lovingly, as "the Queen" of the house. Grace and Charles survive Jennie along with other members of her family, Lee and Bobby-jo Whyte and their son Nathan, Lisa (mama) and Ken (Popeye) Whyte, and their children Cassondra Rasmussen, Stephanie Whyte, and Kayley Whyte. Jennie took great pleasure in watching the girls growing up and spent time watching their sporting events and concerts. Jennie is also survived by her long-time friend Amy Taylor, and her family, who she met when living in Schenectady. Amy continued to be involved in Jennie's Life even after she moved to Chateaugay with the Whyte's. Jennie attended North Star Industries Day Program and was a favorite amongst many people due to her endearing smile and enthusiastic greeting to everyone! Jennie took great pleasure in the simple things in life. She loved jewelry and had amassed a large collection of rings and necklaces, many necklaces that she had strung together herself. Jennie also looked forward every year to spending her money at the County fair as she saved it all year long to go "round and round" on the Merry-Go-Round. Jennie enjoyed singing Christmas Carols, Happy Birthday to anyone who was having a birthday, and also the occasional Bob Dylan song. Jennie's heartfelt singing often brought people to tears. Jennie also took great pleasure in helping her friend Curt Lyon pass out paychecks each week as this was her "job". She often tried to convince Curt to give a check to people who weren't on his payroll because she felt everyone should get one because she liked getting her weekly paycheck so much! Jennie will be fondly remembered by everyone who had the honor of meeting her. There will be no service at this time. Jennie will be laid to rest with Grace and her family in the Wilcox Cemetery in Smyrna NY.
