Mrs. Judith LaPoint

September 29, 1943 - February 20, 2022

Judith Vincent LaPoint September 29, 1943- February 20, 2022 This past Sunday, in her favorite place, surrounded by her favorite people, Judy joined her loved ones- her parents, Anita and Cleve Vincent, her husband of 48 years George LaPoint, and her two sons Todd and Marty LaPoint. Left to cherish her is, her daughter Lisa and her husband Todd Napper, her pride and joys were her grandchildren, Kristen and Jason Favaro and Kayla Napper and Ethan Goslin, and her two grand-doodles Willow and Calli. She will be most certainly missed by her great-grandson who will be arriving soon. She loved and was loved by many. An extension of her were her sisters, Sharon Perry, Doris Reyor, Marge Lentz, and her lifelong friends of over 70 years, Bob and Ann Witkiewicz. Her extended family includes her sister- in-laws Jeannette Dubray, Sally Kline, Genevieve Mailloux, Diane Shutts, Judy LaPoint, Peggy LaPoint, Marilyn Vincent, several nieces, nephews, and neighborhood friends. Judy lived a full and loving life. She wore many hats besides her sun hat while sitting by her shore. She was a mother, grandmother, a great grandmother to be, a sister, an aunt and loving neighbor. She was fully invested in the youth of Chazy Lake as leader for Lakeside Trail Stompers, an agent for Cornell Cooperative Extension, and many hours spent in the horse ring cultivating equestrians. For fun she was a salesclerk at O’Brien Video where she was sought out for life counseling. Judy was an amazing storyteller and an incredible cook. She was a co-author of “Chazy Lake Facts Fiction and Folklore”. Judy started her real estate career working for Lakeland Equities under Dan Waldron. Her passion and love for Chazy Lake led her to become a broker, own, and operate her family business LAPOINT REALTY. Judy was the most successful, tenacious, and persuasive advocate for Chazy Lake. She was among the first stakeholders in the Chazy Lake Watershed initiative and a member of various committees to make the lake better for our next generations. On any given day Judy could be found under the trees of her porch, gazing at the lake, listening to the calls of the loons, spending time with loved ones, cooking for her family, or soaking her toes in the water by the dock. Judy’s greatest joy was her family. She has a legacy that will be passed down to future generations and will be missed by many. At this time, there will be no services. A memorial to honor Judy will he held this summer for all family and friends. Donations can be made in in her name to the Chazy Lake Watershed Initiative. Checks can be mailed to her daughter Lisa Napper, 92 Garmish Street Ellenburg Depot, NY 12935.
