Mrs. Lillian B. LePage Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lillian B. LePage, a resident of The Alice Center Nursing Home, passed away July 25, 2016. She was born in Malone, NY on May 5, 1918 to Frank and Anna Couillard Gravel. She attended schools in Malone and later graduated from Salmon River Central School, the first Alice Hyde School of Nursing, and at age 67, Potsdam State University. She worked at various hospitals and did private duty nursing throughout the state of New York. She also worked as a journalist, primarily for the Potsdam and Courier newspaper in Potsdam, NY. She is survived by four children, David (Carolyn) Lapage, and Steve LePage of North Bangor, NY, Mrs. Tom (Corrine) Hamlin of Marion, NY and Wallace (Brenda) LePage of Norwood, NY; twenty-two grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd LePage in 1993; three daughters, Dawn Finnegan in May 2016, Ann Tyler in 1983 and infant daughter Phyllis in the 1930's. Three brothers and two sisters also predeceased her, Wallace Gravel, Raymond Gravel, Wilmer Gravel, Margaret French and Ruth Breen. She taught religious education for many years in North Bangor, was a devout Catholic and member of the Franciscan Order. She especially enjoyed music, dance and writing. She was a driving force in her family and will be greatly missed. There are no calling hours. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, July 28 at Notre Dame Church in Malone at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.
