Shay Lyn Marie Bushey, 38, of Constable, New York, died November 12, 2016, surrounded by family. Born in Malone, she is the daughter of Holly Darrah and Roland Bushey. Shay was devoted to her Catholic faith and gave God thanks through prayer before every meal. She cared deeply about the environment, the effects of climate change, and the safety concerns of genetically modified food. She had unconditional love and affection for people of all walks of life and believed in equality for all regardless of race, gender, or socio-economic status. Shay was a lover of animals, particularly dogs, and had an enduring affection for books and music. Strikingly bright, she represented the State of New York as a world competitor in Odyssey of Mind. Shay had a deep sense of family. She was survived by her beloved son Nicholas Andrew James Snyder; mother and father; brother and sister MAJ Adam Bushey and Lana Viscosi; nieces and nephews Zoe, Xia, Eli, and Issac Viscosi; brother-in-law Matthew Viscosi; Daniele Bishop; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Calling hours will be held at St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12 noon at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Constable with Rev. Thomas Kornmeyer officiating. Burial will take place at St. Francis Cemetery, Constable.
