Mrs. Shirley Pageau Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Shirley Pageau, 85, formerly of Lyon Mountain, NY died Monday, Aug. 22, 2016 at CVPH Medical Center, Plattsburgh, NY. Born in Malone, NY on Sept. 20, 1930, she was the daughter of Fred and Sadie (Burdash) Garrow. She was married to Carlton "Cobbie" Pageau on October 11, 1948 in Malone, NY. He predeceased her on June 8, 1988. Mrs. Pageau graduated from Franklin Academy with the Class of 1947. In her early years, she was employed at Sunvalley Footware, Tru-Stitch and Marion's Restaurant. She moved to Lyon Mountain after her marriage in 1948. While raising her family, she also worked at the Lyon Mountain American Legion. She was a communicant of St. Bernard's Church, and member of the Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of the Lyon Mountain Fire Dept. and charter member of the Sorrell/Woodward American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Pageau is survived by seven children, Gary Pageau and his wife, Robin of Plattsburgh, Steve Pageau of Plattsburgh, Michael Pageau of Lyon Mountain, Margo Rounds and her husband, Tim of Lyon Mountain, Valerie Frazier of Plattsburgh, Cheryl Alexander of Plattsburgh, Yvette Pageau of Plattsburgh; seven grandchildren, Monica Venne, James Harrigan, Danielle Nicholson and her husband Jamie, Leslie Thayer and her husband Ken, Elizabeth Ross and her husband Keith, Christopher Alexander and companion Jessica Monze, Arrika Horne and her husband Andre; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents; a daughter; Carol Blaine in 2014, a sister, Marie Cox; two brothers, Donald and Robert Garrow. Calling hours will be held at St. Bernard's Church, Lyon Mountain on Thursday, Aug.25 from 10 a.m to 12 noon. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 12 noon with Rev. Thomas Higman officiating. Burial will take place at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Lyon Mountain.
