Mrs. Beverly E. Cheyne

Beverly E. Cheyne, 90, passed away Friday, August 11th, 2023 at Parkland Memory Care in Chandler, Arizona. She formerly resided in and spent most of her life in Chateaugay, NY. Bev was a loving wife and mother who loved to cook and garden. We all remember her wonderful pies. She was a talented seamstress, making and altering clothes for her daughters. Bev traveled to multiple countries and many parts of the United States based on her husband, Donald’s time in the US Air Force. She took great pleasure in helping others. Beverly was born January 9, 1933 in Huntingdon, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Douglas Cooper and Rhoda Gamble Cooper Henderson. She married Donald Cheyne on November 14, 1953. Don passed away in 2011. Bev is survived by her daughters and spouses, Wendy Langey Peterson and Robert Peterson of Ahwatukee, AZ, Brenda and John Rogers of Walworth, NY, Tracie and Roger Parmeter of Chateaugay, NY; grandchildren: Kris Gadway of Plattsburgh, NY, Morgan Langey of Jay, NY, Erica and Dillon Dayton of Penfield, NY, Holly and Grant Simper of Raeford, NC, Jerrid Parmeter of Chateaugay, NY, and Blake and Elizabeth Parmeter of Chateaugay, NY; sister, Sharon Karpinski of Ontario, Canada; a brother and sister-in-law, Jamie and Linda Henderson of Ormstown, Quebec, Canada. She is survived by 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was predeceased by a daughter, Kim Gadway Adams; a grandson, Derek Gadway; a great-grandson, Braydon Parmeter; a sister and brother in-law, Doreen and Reggie Beare; a brother in-law, Vern Karpinski; and step-father Clarence Henderson. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 from 10:30 to 11:30 at the Chateaugay Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at the Chateaugay United Methodist Church at noon. Burial will take place at Eastside Cemetery, Chateaugay. A reception will be held after the burial at the Brainardsville Community Center, 30 State Route 190, Brainardsville, NY. The family of Bev Cheyne invites you to come and share your memories.
