Mrs. Joyce M. King

Joyce M. King, 89, of County Route 24, Bellmont passed away Friday, August 14, 2026 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born on July 23, 1937 in Malone, NY she was the daughter of Herbert J. and Mary (Fleury) Dupra. Joyce married Richard “Dick” King on November 24, 1956 in Notre Dame Church, Malone, NY by Rev. Roger Martin. Dick predeceased her on December 2, 2021. Joyce graduated from Franklin Academy, Malone. She worked side by side with her husband for fifty years. Together, they began “The Red Barn Tree Farm” plantation. She loved working in her flower garden and cooking for her family. She was a skilled knitter, gifting many of her beautiful pieces to family and donating to anyone in need. She and Dick were avid collectors of antiques and collectibles. She was a communicant of St. Jude’s Church, Brainardsville and Notre Dame Church, Malone. She was a member of the St. Helen’s Catholic Daughters and the Altar and Rosary Society. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister and was on the St. Jude’s Parish Council. Joyce is survived by her three children, Richie King and his wife, Paula, Penny and her husband, Scott Landry, and Judy King; ten grandchildren, Adam King and his wife, Natalie, Jeremy King, Derrick King and his wife, Sarah, Gregory King and his wife, Amy, Gabrielle Lamitie and her husband, Joseph, Olivia LaFleur, Jason Landry, Lindsey Edwards and her husband, Zach, Ashley Landry and Ben Hammill; 19 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Sandra Cosgrove and her companion, Mike Gully, Nancy King and Debbie King; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Joyce was predeceased by her parents; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Bernard and Lorraine Dupra and Richard Dupra; three sisters and 2 brothers-in-law, Rita and Stanley LaBrake, Irene and Richard Lamitie and Margaret Palardy; and brothers and sisters-in-law, William (Bill) King, John King, Edna and Fred Fields and Linda and Leonard Johnson, and Thomas Cosgrove. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Notre Dame Church, Malone on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 10 a.m. Burial will be held in Brainardsville Cemetery. A celebration of life will be celebrated immediately following the burial at the Chateaugay American Legion. Donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to Catholic Charities.
