Mrs. Patricia A. Maneely

Patricia Ann (Willett) Maneely, 86, of Malone, NY, passed away on August 12, 2026, at Alice Hyde Medical Center, with her loving daughter by her side. Born March 16, 1940, in Gabriels, NY, to Fred and Gladys (Williams) Willett. Patricia (Pat) graduated from Franklin Academy in Malone, then married Howard Maneely on January 21, 1958, spending 64 years as his loving wife until his death in 2022. Pat’s career was best known for her volunteer work later in life, but those who had the opportunity to know her as a monitor at Franklin Academy remember her well - a smiling (albeit strict) face to decades of students until her retirement in 1995. Her later years were spent giving her time to many causes. Most memorably, the Alice Hyde Auxiliary, Ladies of the Elks, and the Franklin County Fair Board. She was a constant at the snack bar and gift shop at Alice Hyde, offering comfort and, most likely, a sassy comment to many employees and visitors who stopped by. She gave much of herself to the Franklin County Agricultural Society, serving in many roles on the Franklin County Fair Board, including president. “Fair Week” was a permanent fixture in her and Howard’s calendar. You couldn’t make a loop of the grounds without seeing her in a golf cart monitoring the goings-on and keeping things in line, and she loved nothing more than sharing the excitement and activities with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If she wasn’t volunteering, you were most likely to find Pat at the Malone Golf Course, playing in weekly leagues and lauding the story of her hole-in-one. Right up until her passing, she loved any place where she could chat with friends and family while enjoying a cold Coors Light and a game of Quick Draw. Patricia is survived by her children, son Howard “Jeff” (Linda) Maneely, and Mary Anita (Joseph) Johnson, both of Malone, NY; five grandchildren, Matthew (Courtney) Johnson of Malone, NY, Mitchell (Kathy) Johnson of Owls Head, NY, Chad (Tori) Johnson of Malone, NY, Danielle (John) King of Burke, NY, and Ryan (Kayla) Maneely of Moira, NY. She is also survived and lovingly remembered as “GG” by ten great-grandchildren: Brian, Alexandria, Jack, Aubriana, Chael, Isaac, Adalyn, Elliana, Dora, and Isabella. Patricia is also survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Walsh of Watertown, NY, and two brothers-in-law, Michael Maneely of Malone, NY, and Robert (Judy) Maneely of Vermont. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard, as well as her parents, brother Robert Willett, and sisters Joann Tulip and Mary Tulip. Patricia will be remembered as a bright and social member of the greater Malone community. She was known to always have a trusty dog by her side and spent many years traveling and experiencing the best of life with her devoted husband. Patricia’s family would like to thank the team at the Farrar Home for being such a safe and comforting place for the last three years. Calling hours will be held at St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A prayer service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lake Titus Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Farrar Home in support of their memorial walking path project.
