Mr. Robert Leonard Lobdell

Robert Leonard Lobdell, 68, of Chazy died Sunday, November 28, 2021 at his home. Born on June 26, 1953 in Malone, NY, he was the son of Leonard and Theresa (Barcomb) Lobdell. He was married to Cathy Reyell on July 24, 1976 in West Chazy, NY at St. Joseph’s church. Bob graduated from Chateaugay Central School with the Class of 1971. He graduated from Canton ATC with an AAS in electrical in 1973. He was employed for 37 years with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in Rouses Point as a Manufacturing Process Engineer and later as Engineering/Maintenance Group Supervisor, then for 6 ½ years with Bombardier in Plattsburgh as Maintenance Planner. Bob had a passion for trains and enjoyed collecting models that were relevant to the area. Anyone who knew Bob also knew his love of his Harley Davidson Fat Boy and having adventures with his wife, Cathy. They spent many miles on the road together traveling to different states in the US and Canada. His love of motorcycles was passed along to his sons, Bill and Travis. Bob had a great love of spending time with his family and friends. He had a quick wit and everyone knew when he arrived at the party because of his booming laugh. Wherever Bob went, the good times followed. His sense of adventure and drive could be seen throughout his life. He designed and built the family home. He was a co-founder of the Adirondack Show-Van-ists van Club in Plattsburgh, NY. The club consisted of 33 members and 4 local sponsors. He participated in and led many motorcycle rallies where he joined the Plattsburgh HOG Chapter and went on to hold numerous roles, eventually becoming the Director for 2 years. He had a true patriot spirit in life, especially when he honored our veterans of America through his attendance of honor flight motorcycle rides. These rides hosted by North Country Honor Flight ensure veterans reach Washington D.C. for their memorial visits. Bob is survived by his wife Cathy, of 45 years of marriage; two sons, William (Bill) Lobdell, daughter-in-law, Kate Noonan, of Halfmoon NY, and Travis Lobdell, partner Emily Wood, of Williston, VT; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Jeff Gillette of Chateaugay NY; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Mary Lobdell of Chateaugay NY, and John and Karen Lobdell of Munnsville, NY. He was predeceased by his parents and step-brother, Kenneth Lobdell. Calling hours will be held at the Chateaugay Funeral Home, 36 Church St, Chateaugay, NY 12920, on Friday, December 10 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on December 11 at St. Patrick’s Church, Chateaugay, NY.
